  • WHAT IS A NEW RESORT GUEST EVALUATION?
We are a socialized dog resort providing a safe and fun environment for your dog. The evaluation day is a full resort introduction. We want to make sure that your dog is comfortable in their suites, with our staff and with other dogs. We consider it the first day of "school" and getting to know where everything is and who are these new folks. We spend one on one time with your dog and slowly introduce other dog friends. It’s important that your dog get acclimated to the sights, smells, sounds and routine of Stay before joining the other guests in open playtime. New guest evaluations must be scheduled in advance due to the individual attention given to each dog. Stay has sole discretion to separate your dog from other guests at anytime.
  • MY DOG FAILED HIS EVALUATION BECAUSE OF ANXIETY.....?
Stay Pet accepts all dogs of all sizes and we are a hands-on and socialized group environment. Being a socialized resort does not make us the perfect choice for every dog. One of the main things we watch during the evaluation day is the anxiety and stress level of the dogs. Dogs will exhibit these signs by heavy panting, pacing, clawing at doors, intolerance (snapping) toward other dogs, snapping at attendants, going to bathroom in their suite, destruction of property and excessive barking. For the overall comfort of not only your dog but other guests; we recommend other kennels or at home boarding. It is not about pass/fail; we want what is best for your dog and their comfort and happiness while away from you.
  • WHY DOES MY DOG SEEM SO TIRED AND DRINK SO MUCH WATER WHEN THEY GET HOME?
Stay Pet offers a different kind of daycare/boarding experience with constant stimulation. Because we are both an indoor and outdoor facility your dog is with other dogs and humans playing throughout the day. Dogs get private rest throughout the day in a suite. We provide fresh water in each suite as well as throughout the facility in each play areas. We can serve meals if provided by owners ($2 charge). Sometimes like people and children who get busy or playing at school they forget to drink and eat.
  • DO THE DOGS EVER FIGHT AND GET INJURED?
In a socialized environment, accidents and fights can happen. Our new guest evaluation day(s) helps screens out the vast majority of dogs that are not good candidates for daycare. However; dogs in a pack will naturally seek order among themselves, using the only tools they have teeth and nails. Minor disagreements resulting from over- excitement; shared resources; challenges to the pecking order; and other breakdowns in dog communication are normal. Our daycare staff is taught to recognize and redirect any behavior that could escalate into a fight. They will intervene and redirect a dog that is overly excited, fearful, dominant, or disrespectful of pack dynamics. They also know the safest ways to separate two dogs already engaged.
  • DO YOU OFFER ANY MILITARY OR SENIOR DISCOUNT?
We are so grateful for the men and women who serve our country. Stay Pet donates to many charities including America's Vet Dogs.
  • CAN YOU PICK UP MY DOG FROM BWI AIRPORT?
Yes, we are located across from Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). Additional fees apply and pickup available during lobby hours.
  • WHAT AGE AND VACCINES ARE REQUIRED?
We work closely with Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital to stay up to date on recommended vaccines and current outbreaks.

We require a veterinarian certificate indicating proof of vaccination for Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), Bordetella and Canine Influenza Bivalent Vaccination (CIV). If the Bordetella vaccine has never been given, or if it has expired, a 7 day waiting period is required after the administration. For all other vaccinations, a 24 hour waiting period is required after the first administration of a vaccination or if it has expired.

All guests must be treated with an effective form of flea control and heartworm prevention.

We strongly recommend that current Daycare guests get a fecal exam every 6 months or yearly.

All guests must be 10 weeks or older to join daycare play, all daycare guests must be spayed or neutered, unless under 6 months of age. Once they are over 6 months of age they must be spayed or neutered in order to socialize with the other guests in daycare. Puppies 10 weeks and older must have a negative fecal exam before coming to Stay.
  • WHAT FOOD SHOULD I BRING & DO YOU SERVE RAW?
As many dogs are sensitive to sudden dietary changes, we find that it's best for owners to provide dogs' regular food for the entire length of their stay. We require that all meals be pre-bagged for each meal (ziplock bags work well). This provides the exact portion you want for each meal. We do not accept large dog food bags, Tupperware containers or food bins. There is an additional charge of $1.50 per day (per dog) for separating meals. Stay Pet proudly uses and serves Purina EN Gastroenteric.

Due to the potential health issues associated with raw chicken, we do not allow it into the facility. We will serve "pet labeled and pet approved" raw dog diets in original unopened packaging. We recommend freeze-dried alternatives during their boarding. Please call the resort prior to discuss your dog's diet. By request, we can prepare specialized meals, including cooking or thawing. Depending on the request, a charge of up to $10 per meal per dog, may be required.
  • CAN I BRING MY DOG'S BED AND BOWLS?
As a full-service pet resort, we provide the comforts of home including premium dog bedding and bowls. Please do not bring in bowls, however; you can bring in your own bedding at your risk. Potential risks being, your bedding being chewed or mangled in our commercial washing machine. Your bedding may become soiled at which time it will be removed, washed and bagged until your departure. We find a small blanket or t-shirt is a great reminder of home in addition to our bedding. Stay Pet does not guarantee the return of pet's items or in their original condition.
  • WILL YOU GIVE MY DOG THEIR MEDICINE?
Yes, including injections. Injections and timed medication are an additional charge of $5 per administration. Medication must be labeled in original container and dosage instructions are included. Please do not put medicine in any food or pill pockets, we can do that for you. Medicine can not be administered between 10pm-5am daily. We recommend extra doses in case of unexpected boarding extensions.
  • IS YOUR FACILITY SECURE?
Yes, our resort features security and fire detection systems that alert local police and fire departments in the event of an emergency. The inside and outside is monitored by an advanced camera system with over 80 video cameras.
  • WILL YOU ACCEPT FEMALE DOGS WHO ARE NOT SPAYED?
Yes. However; there is no group play activity for dogs over 6 months of age. She will still receive lots of love and private activity throughout her stay. On the rare occasion that a dog goes into heat while boarding, an additional $35 per day fee applies plus she will be moved to a private isolation room ($95 a night). A female in heat can stress our male guests staying at the resort and requires extra sanitation protocols. If your dog is currently in heat prior to boarding, we unfortunately can not knowingly have her board with us.
  • DO YOU ACCEPT INTACT MALES FOR OVERNIGHT BOARDING?
Yes. However; dogs over 6 months must be neutered in order to participate in group play. Our Garden Villa offers private outside play area for additional exercise while boarding. Your dog will enjoy other daily activities such as private play, small group play or daily walks.
  • OTHER THAN DAYCARE AND BOARDING, WHAT OTHER SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
Guests can enjoy our Spa Bathing, Grooming, Mobile Spa and Training services. Our Stay Spa includes custom ergonomic bathing tubs that provide comfort to the groomer as well as the dog. Each Spa bath includes a massage, blueberry facial. nails and ear cleaning. We offer full service grooming. Please call to set up a consultation for grooming pricing.
